About the Story

Shades of Red is a suspense thriller based on a legend in Juniata County, Pennsylvania that has been handed down for generations. The cabin where the events took place many years ago is currently owned by Alex Teleky and he believes that the spirit of Red still lives within its walls. One dark and dreary night, Red Keller's wife, Amanda, brings him to the brink of madness, causing him to behead her. After burying her body in the basement and her head in the woods, Red hangs himself in the attic. Found by their clergyman only moments after the incident, he begs the Lord to forgive them and searches for their teenage daughter, Cassandra Alexa. As the story unfolds, we see that their daughter, thought to be dead, still lives and is in pursuant of her mother, whom she believes to still be alive. Cassandra's courage can overcome the evil within her mother and bring her back from the walking dead to finally rest in peace. But will Cassandra be willing to give up her own life, to save her mother who has taken hers so many years ago? What about Mitchell Parks, the man Cassandra loved so dearly? Cassandra watched as he was destroyed by her own mother's hands, but now feels his presence in Marty, the man she struggles with her feelings. She knows to love him would destroy him, just as it has in the past. If struggling through these mixed emotions isn't enough, things take a turn for the worst when Cassandra and her friends return to her home in Juniata County. Having no immediate recollection, it seems to be just another party weekend, but within minutes of seeing the cabin for the time in years, all the memories and fears rush back. Those fears are reinforced when one of their own goes missing. The finger pointing begins, but ultimately, Cassandra knows who is at the root of the evil. Holding onto the knowledge that she now has the power to overcome this evil, she begins her journey to destroy that which is evil and fights for the goodness she also knows lies within.
